The first of October marked the beginning of what I think are the best three months of the year.
October, November, and December.
{Hey, save the best for last, right?}
While technically they aren't one actual season {more like mostly fall and a little winter}, I like to think of them as one. So for lack of a better term, we're going to just call it "fall/autumn" but really I mean up through to the first of January.
Here's what I'm most excited for....
- The leaves turning every shade of red, orange, and yellow imaginable.
- Pumpkin flavored everything.
- Football season!
- The cool, crisp fall air on a sunny day - perfect for scarves and jackets without being too cold or gloomy.
- Halloween! 'Nuff said.
- Fall decor ideas like this, this, and this.
- Corn mazes, pumpkin patches, apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, and all the other fall festival activities.
- Fall fashion - sweaters and boots and scarves and jackets and hats and the list goes on and on...
- The return of television shows!
- Thanksgiving. Again, 'nuff said.
- Snuggling up in a comfy sweater with a hot cup of coffee and a book.
- Christmas season right around the corner {it's the most wonderful time of the year!}. Also, the fact that these carols and other holiday songs will soon be socially acceptable.
The list really could go on and on, but twelve seemed like a good number and who are we kidding? I'll probably just end up doing another post with more reasons eventually...
