my saturday was da bomb, how was yours?

Yesterday, most of our group of friends went on the school trip to Isle of Wight, which I wanted to do, but didn't get signed up in time.
Also, I'm poor.

So my three remaining pals and I made a day of it.  We packed a lunch and walked to Primrose Hill, where we sat and had a little picnic and photo op moment.  Primrose Hill is just steep enough that when you're at the top, you can see out over a lot of London - it was gorgeous, and the day was sunny and surprisingly warm.  There were so many people out with their dogs {the one in that picture above was unbelievably adorable, so I had to be a creeper and grab a photo}, and this one group of people who were skateboarding down the hill.  It was fun to watch them get going really fast and then totally wipeout on the grass halfway down.

After lunch, we went to Oxford Circus to shop for my friend Jason.  I'm in my element when I'm shopping, and he needed the help, so it was splendid.  At least, I thought so, but apparently none of them were quite as enthusiastic as I was.  Ho hum, pig's bum.  We bought him some nice things and then walked down to the Thames River, where we grabbed dinner and got these amazing nutella and banana crêpes from the street food festival that was going on.  They made them in front of us, batter and all, so when we got them, they were freshly made and piping hot!  SO delicious!!  We eventually mad our way back to the school, got into our sweatpants, and played Monopoly for the rest of the night.

We know how to partay on a Saturday, let me tell you.
It was definitely up there in one of the best days I've had in the month I've been here.
{Can you believe I've been here a whole month already??}

rainy day in london town

Coat: thrifted / Sweater: JCP / Leggings: Helly Hansen / Scarf: Camden market / Bag: AE / Socks: H&M / Boots: Enzo Angiolini

They finally got pumpkin spice in the UK!!
And everyone rejoiced!
{That's you.  Rejoice.}

You guys seriously have no idea the hankering I've had for a pumpkin spice latte.  It was gettin' ugly.

Also, can we please just talk about how I got this GAP trench coat at Goodwill for twelve dollars?  Brand spanking new with the tags on and everything!
Winning.

Honestly, yesterday was pretty low-key and I don't remember too much about it because I'm so exhausted by today's activities {which you will hear about tomorrow, so stay tuned because they were pretty much awesome x1000000}.  All I know about yesterday was that I did my laundry.  It took forever to get a free machine, cost me about five dollars, blah blah blah.... I don't really think you all care about my laundry.  If you do, then you need to go and do something else because that is sad.

girls night in

Shirt: Gap / Cardigan: Gap / Jeans: Delias / Moccasins: UGG / Belt: thrifted / Beanie: uhhhh.... I forget... sorry

You should all know that as I type this I am wildly singing "Oh Happy Day" from Sister Act with my friends lined up like ducks on the bed.  There's clapping and snapping and "oh yeahs" and "sing it sisters" all up in here right now.  Partayyyyy!

We're theatre kinds.  So don't judge.  Or do.

Honeybadger don't care.

We've danced with scarves to Time Warp, Hey Yah, and Jai Ho, and now we're settling down with some chocolate, so excuse me while I go and eat that while watching Hocus Pocus.

in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps toniiiiiiight

Pants: Primark / Sweater: F21 / Watch: Windsor / Flats: Nordstrom / Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs / Glasses: Walmart

A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh, a-wimoweh....

Every time I wear these pants, I think of this song.  And then it's stuck in the back of my head through the entire day because I just so happen to be wearing a constant reminder of this song, which I don't even know all the lyrics to.  It doesn't help that I'm wearing a forest green sweater, either.  Well, hi-ho {hi-ho it's off to work we go} I guess.  Man, I'm all about the Disney today.

Hey, guess what?  Animal print just so happens to be the Trend of the Month challenge over on Marion's blog, Marionberry Style.  So go check out how all the others are wearing it, and see what you think.  Plenty of inspiration over there from some pretty stylish gals.

P.S.  I also linked up over at The Pleated Poppy and Real Girl Glam because there were simply too many other fabulous looks to draw inspiration from.  Go check them out for yourself, eh?

i call this my carmen sandiego look

Sweater: Nordstrom / Jeggings: AE / Boots: Steve Madden / Hat: H&M / Scarf: Camden market / Bag: AE / Watch: Windsor

I couldn't decide for like five minutes if the Sandiego in "Carmen Sandiego" was one word or two.  Problems.

Anyways, I just got this hat at H&M yesterday and I love it!  The color, the little gold leaves dangling off it, how European I feel when I wear it, and just the wonderful Carmen Sandiego-ness of it all.

This look is a part of the Bloggers Do It Better challenge series - this time around the challenge is to style the color "oxblood".  It's a major fall color, and while not particularly appealing so far as the name, it's actually a really gorgeous deep red with just a touch of brown.

You can check out how everybody else is wearing oxblood this fall by going here and checking out the link up!

Top: Delias / Jeans: Delias / Boots: Steve Madden / Bag: AE / Scarf: Camden market / Lipstick: NARS Heat Wave

Soooo, I have this friend who is an AWESOME photographer, and she's been super nice enough to take pictures for the blog with me.  {Thanks, Kelly!}  I'm a lucky girl, yes I am.

On another note, today officially marks that point in the year where the mention of a Christmas/holiday song doesn't make me cringe! ...

...

... K, guys.  Confession.  I actually started singing "Chestnuts roasting on an open fiiiiiiire...." a little bit.  I know, I know.
Judge me.
